The following are tools and applications you may find interesting to use in your classrooms.

 

 

 

 PBWorks is a web-based service that can be used to create interactive webpages known as wikis.  This site has been made using  

  PBWorks.  For a brief introduction to wikis click here

    A blog can be used as a collaborative learning space which commonly displays information in reverse chronological order.
    Edmodo is an online classroom networking site for teachers and students to share notes, files, links, assignments, and assessments.
    Haiku Learning is a learning management system for teachers and their students.  It is similar to Edmodo.
  Quizlet is the largest flash cards and study games website with over 6 million free sets of flashcards covering every possible subject.  It allows you to embed flash cards and games into websites, wikis, blogs, etc. and can even be used with mobile phone apps.
  Timetoast is an application which makes it possible for users to design and build their own interactive timelines. These timelines can then be shared on the internet by embedding them into any site.  
 

Weebly is an online, free, widget-based Web site creator allowing users to create pages with only a few clicks by dragging and dropping different page elements (images, text, or interactive content). 

  Yola is another easy to use website builder. 
Glogster is a social network that allows users to create free interactive posters, or glogs. The glog, short for graphical blog, is an interactive multimedia image. It looks like a poster, but readers can interact with the content.
Prezi is a web-based presentation application and storytelling tool that uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides. Text, images, videos and other presentation objects are placed on the infinite canvas and grouped together in frames. The canvas allows users to create non-linear presentations, where users can zoom in and out of a visual map.

Tagxedo turns words -- famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes into a visually stunning word cloud, words individually sized appropriately to highlight the frequencies of occurrence within the body of text.

  Screencast-o-matic is a tool that allows you to do one-click recording of your computer's screen.
